I have to admit, after watching The Voice for the entire first season I was dying to see who would come out on top. And now that I know who the winners of voice are, I must say I’m not really surprised. The winner of The Voice, season one, is Javier Colon!
Over the past 10 weeks Colon has given graceful and flawless performances. Adam Lavine of Maroon 5 is his new coach, although Colon had a choice between all four judges- they all loved him. Colon had this to say about his fellow finalists:
“Thank you. I don’t even know where to begin, other than to say that the three women behind me are absolutely awesome,” Colon said after the winner’s announcement. “I want to thank everyone at home who believed in me and voted for me. Whoo!” he shouted, while wiping tears from his eyes.
Levine gave Colon a big hug while showers of confetti fell around them. “You OK?” he asked Colon, who was.
Javier Colon sings what he calls “acoustic soul”, and is an American songwriter and singer. He sang with The Derek Trucks Band and EmcQ before starting his solo career. He was known as artist Javier from 2002 to 2006 under Capitol Records. When that contract was cancelled, he started his own label as an independent artist. After becoming one of the winners of Voice, he now has a recording contract with Universal Republic Records and $100,000. Way to go Javier!
Javier Colon has proven that with genuine talent, hard work and determination, you can truly accomplish your dreams. It just goes to show that anything is possible. It will be very interesting to see who the future winners of Voice will be. Who knows, maybe you will be one of them!
