How Do You Network? Learn How to Be Discovered over your Competition!

How do you network properly? Ah the age old question. I work in the entertainment field, and get asked this question numerous times a week. So I decided to write a blog about it, and search for all the results, then decipher them to find the best one.

So many different people I speak to about the topic of how do you network, they say that networking is meeting people and selling them on their idea.

If you want to be discovered through competition, then you must ask yourself “How do you network? If nothing comes to mind then you’re in deep doo doo. People used to say “It’s not what you know but who you know. That is an old cliche’. In many circumstances, it’s exactly what you know that can give you an edge over your competition.

So how do you network? To be discovered over your competition, you must do your homework! Research your contacts companies and backgrounds. Dont look desperate, be confident and respect your contact’s privacy.

Always ask for advice, but dont be pushy and aggressive, and definitely dont push anyone beyond their limits. It’s time for you to be discovered over your competition.
